With an experienced trade team and a strong reputation for quality workmanship, they're now looking to a Boilermaker to their busy workshop.About this prospect:Sunshine West location$***** – $*****+ p/h (depending on skills and experience)Casual — direct employment with the client from day one, genuine ongoing work6:00am – 2:30pm, Monday to Friday scheduleJoin an established, experienced trade team in a busy structural steel workshopHands-on fabrication role working with structural steel (mild steel)What you'll be doing:MIG welding structural steel components to a high standardMarking out and setting out fabrications from drawings to tight tolerancesFitting and assembling beams, columns, cleats,
base plates and trusses — tacking up square and true before weld-outReading and interpreting fabrication drawings, weld symbols and cutting listsManaging distortion control and weld sequencing on larger fabricationsWorking independently from shop drawings with minimal supervisionMaintaining a clean, tidy and safe workshopTo be considered for this role:Certificate III in Engineering (Fabrication Trade) or equivalentAbility to pass a practical weld test as part of the selection processConfident reading structural steel/fabrication drawingsPhysically capable of sustained hands‐on trade workBackground in structural steel fabrication highly regardedOverhead crane, forklift, or dogging/rigging tickets highly regarded but not essential
