This role is focused on turning engineering data and existing ADF sustainment models into a practical, workable maintenance plan for ABF vessels.You will be responsible for building the first Annual Maintenance Work Plan (AWP)
for ABF's ECCPB fleet; making sure maintenance is realistic, achievable, and aligned to how ABF actually operates its boats.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain the Annual Maintenance Work Plan (AWP) for ABF ECCPBs, ensuring all required maintenance activities are clearly defined and structuredAlign maintenance plans with ABF operational schedules, including Usage and Upkeep Cycles (UUC), patrol demands and vessel availabilityTranslate engineering, OEM and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) inputs into a practical, deliverable maintenance scheduleEnsure maintenance activities are realistic and achievable; balancing operational requirements, time constraints and resource availabilityWork closely with inventory and logistics teams to ensure materiel availability supports maintenance timelinesAdapt existing ADF sustainment approaches to suit ABF operating conditions and differences in usage and configurationEngage with stakeholders across Defence, ABF and industry to validate assumptions, confirm feasibility and maintain alignmentContinuously refine the maintenance plan as inputs evolve; ensuring it remains accurate, practical and fit-for-purposeSkills and ExperienceTertiary qualification in Engineering (Mechanical, Marine or related discipline)Demonstrated experience in maintenance planning or sustainment engineering within Maritime or Defence environmentsProven ability to interpret engineering and ILS data as well as Technical manuals, maintenance requirements and OEM inputsExperience aligning maintenance plans with operational constraints and asset availabilityFamiliarisation with ADF/Defence sustainment frameworks and MSM conceptsExperience with ECCPB, Austal vessel data, or similar programsRequired Security Clearance LevelBaselineLocation: Perth, Western Australia (WA).
