The successful candidate will be appointed under the Electoral Act **** for state elections and under the Local Government (Electoral) Regulations **** for council elections.
The pay and conditions for this role, are set out under the VEC's Election Staff Remuneration and Allowance Framework.Interviews will be conducted the week commencing 14 September, with training for successful candidates undertaken in late September / October ****.What you will be doingYou will help build and support the workforce that delivers election operations across one or more electoral districts.
Working as part of a hub staffing team, you will support the recruitment, appointment and rostering of election staff and help ensure election activities are appropriately staffed.You do not need previous election experience.
We will train you on electoral processes and systems.
We are looking for someone who is organised, enjoys working with people and can keep track of multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.Day to day, you will:Support the recruitment and appointment of election staffAssist with preparing and maintaining staff rostersCommunicate with election staff about appointments, shifts and operational updatesMaintain accurate staffing records and reportsSupport staff check-in processes and attendance monitoringAssist with timesheet processing and respond to routine payroll enquiriesHelp resolve staffing issues and *escalate* more complex matters when requiredWork closely with hub teams to ensure election activities are appropriately staffedDuring a state election, priorities can change quickly.
As part of a small staffing team, you will help respond to operational demands and support the delivery of a large and diverse election workforce.This role involves working with computers for extended periods, moving election materials and equipment, and working extended or irregular hours during peak election periods.What you will bring to the roleExperience in administration,
