This could be for you.Elk Espresso is on the hunt for our next Head Barista.We're a big, busy beachside café in Broadbeach with a huge local & interstate following, a great crew and a coffee bar that absolutely hums.
We've been doing this since ****, and while a lot has changed over the years, one thing hasn't — we care deeply about what we put across the coffee pass.Coffee is a massive part of Elk.You'll co-lead a team of baristas across two La Marzocco machines, serving our house blend roasted by the legends at Social Roasters, alongside 3 weekly rotating guest coffees from some of Australia's best roasters.This role is about more than making a killer flat white.We're looking for someone who can lead the bar, develop our baristas, protect consistency when it gets busy and keep finding ways to make our coffee offering better.You'll need:Years of specialty coffee experienceExperience as a Head Barista,
or the leadership skills to step into the roleConfidence in a high-volume environmentStrong latte art and excellent coffee knowledgeThe ability to lead, train and develop a excellent teamA calm head when the coffee bar is pumpingStrong organisation and attention to detailFresh ideas and a desire to keep learning & to help our seasonal menusA great personality and genuine love for hospitalityFull availabilityWe're big believers in development too.
There are opportunities for additional training, cuppings and education with Social Roasters and the wider specialty coffee community.And your morning commute ends across the road from the beach.Sunrises before service, ocean air on your break and, if you're lucky, whales cruising past while you're working.It's busy.
