Spartan Double Glazing manufactures German-engineered uPVC double glazing and installs it across South Australia, as part of a multi-state group of around 60 people with branches in four states.
We're building our compliance and safety function properly, from the ground up, with real budget behind it — and South Australia is where it starts.
This is not a clipboard job.
You will be on our sites, across every installation in the state, with the authority to stop any job, answerable only to the directors.
The role
You oversee every SA installation.
Genuine, hands-on supervision — site presence across all jobs, not a signature on a form.
Pre-start reviews, SWMS sign-off through our digital field app, spot audits, and the final word on whether work proceeds.
You own the structural verification protocol.
Every opening where the load path can't be directly verified goes to an independent chartered structural engineer before a single frame moves — that's our standard, and you enforce it without exception.
You hold stop-work authority.
Any site, any time, no permission needed.
The directors will back every stop you call.
You run the safety system end to end.
Inductions, white card and competency registers, toolbox talks, training records, incident response, and regulator liaison — with an external WHS consultant engaged to support the build.

About you
Current SA Building Work Supervisors Registration — essential.
A building work contractor's licence in your own right is highly regarded.
Trade or building background — windows and doors, carpentry, or residential construction.
Working knowledge of the WHS Act **** (SA) and high risk construction work requirements; Cert IV WHS well regarded.
Available to be
exclusively approved
as supervisor for our business (SA registration rules effectively limit supervisors to one contractor — if you currently supervise for another business, this role requires a clean move).
The temperament to tell a director something he doesn't want to hear, and the standing to make it stick.
