As an HR Operations & Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining and updating employee data within Workday, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all HR processes.This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and confident working with HR systems, Excel, and AI tools in a high-volume global environment.The role involves robust exposure to HR operations including leave administration, employee lifecycle management, and severance-related processes.About the RoleAs an HR Operations & Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining and updating employee data within Workday, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all HR processes.This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and confident working with HR systems, Excel, and AI tools in a high-volume global environment.The role involves strong exposure to HR operations including leave administration, employee lifecycle management, and severance-related processes.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain, update, and approve employee data within Workday HR systemProcess new hire transactions once candidates are in "Ready to Hire" statusSupport employee lifecycle processes including:Employee movements and status changesPayroll and benefits updatesLeave and absence management (HR operations focus)Performance and compensation updatesSupport HR operations tasks including leave administration and severance-related processes where requiredEnsure integrity of employee records and compliance with legal and regulatory requirementsMaintain supervisory organisations, job positions,
and organisational structures in WorkdayReview integration exception/kick-out reports and resolve discrepancies across systemsSupport HR data audits and continuous improvement initiativesParticipate in ad hoc HR projects as requiredAbout YouBachelor's degree (HR, Business, or related field preferred)Experience with Workday or other HRIS systems is highly desirableStrong Microsoft Excel skills (intermediate level minimum)Tech savvy with the ability to work confidently with digital tools and AI-based systemsExperience or exposure to HR operations (especially leave administration or severance calculations) highly regardedHigh attention to detail and accuracyStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, changing environmentQuick learner with strong problem-solving abilityTeam-oriented with a cooperative mindsetFluent in Mandarin and English (essential)Full working rights in Australia (PR, Partner, Post Graduate & Australian Citizen)Benefits & Conditions12-month full-time contract via HOBAN RecruitmentHybrid working model (50% Work from Home / 50% Office)Monday to Friday, full-time hoursOpportunity to work with a global US pharmaceutical organisationExposure to advanced HR systems - WorkdayHands-on experience across HR operations, data, and systemsAt HOBAN we encourage applications from people with disability, people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, people of all genders, LGBTI people, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.We provide reasonable adjustments; including alternate formats to the recruitment process for individuals with disability.
