Purpose-driven Financial Accountant role - broad exposure within a wonderful team

Your new company
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Financial Accountant to join a well-established and purpose-driven organisation making a meaningful impact across WA. Working within a collaborative finance team and reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in strengthening financial governance, reporting accuracy and compliance across the organisation. This role is open to those with experience in a Financial Accounting role as well as first-movers from a Big4 or mid-tier public practice environment.

Your current role
As the Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for supporting the integrity of the organisation's financial operations through accurate reporting, balance sheet management, audit coordination and compliance activities.
You will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance financial processes, controls and overall governance.
Key responsibilities include:

- Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and journals
- Maintaining fixed asset registers and supporting month-end processes
- Assisting with taxation compliance including BAS, PAYG and FBT obligations
- Producing monthly financial reports, variance analysis and board reporting
- Supporting year-end reporting and external audit processes
- Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and funding requirements
- Strengthening internal controls, policies and financial procedures




- Acting as a key finance contact for audit and compliance matters

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will be a CA or CPA qualified accountant (or close to completion) with strong technical accounting knowledge.
You will also demonstrate:

- Experience in a Financial Accountant or similar position
- Strong understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and statutory reporting
- Experience supporting or leading external audits
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical capability
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Advanced Excel and financial systems skills
- The ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment
