About us:
Central Queensland Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service (CQMHAODS) provides specialist mental health, alcohol and other drug support across Rockhampton, Capricorn Coast, Gladstone, Central Highlands and Banana. With services embedded across the region, including acute inpatient care, community care and step-up/step-down support, the service connects people with the right care closer to home.
The Alcohol and Other Drugs Service (AODS) works to reduce the harm associated with alcohol and drug use while improving the wellbeing of individuals, families and the wider community. Based in Rockhampton, AODS reaches communities across Yeppoon, Emerald, Blackwater, Biloela and Mount Morgan through outreach services.
About the role:
- Provide specialist psychological care to people experiencing alcohol and other drug issues, using screening, assessment, intervention and referral.
- Champion harm reduction and prevention, supporting healthier outcomes for clients, families and the wider community.
- Deliver culturally safe, person-centred care while working closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients and key stakeholders.
- Strengthen AODS services by contributing to quality improvement, service development and evidence-based clinical practice.
- Keep growing and leading practice through professional development, shared learning and contributing to prevention,
early intervention and health promotion initiatives.
About you:
- Hold a qualification in Psychology and general or provisional registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA); Post-graduate qualifications in relevant Psychology or addiction courses would be highly regarded.
- Don't currently hold the mandatory qualification, but waiting on conferral? You will be considered for this role!
- Strong clinical psychology expertise and the ability to provide high-quality care to clients experiencing alcohol and other drug concerns.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with clients, families, carers and multidisciplinary teams.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $132,567 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $43.97 - $58.59 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
