About the role
As an Operational Services Officer working as a Pathology Collector, you will play an important role in supporting the delivery of effective, accurate and efficient laboratory services. Reporting to the local Regional Laboratory Manager, you will undertake specimen collection and assist with the transport, sorting and labelling of specimens in accordance with established protocols. Working under general direction, you will apply practical skills and sound judgement while providing exceptional customer service to patients, staff, referring clinicians and other medical professionals accessing SA Pathology services. This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute directly to patient care as part of a trusted statewide pathology service. .
Located just 2.5 hours north of Adelaide, Port Pirie is a welcoming coastal town framed by the stunning backdrop of the nearby Flinders Ranges. In your own backyard, you can explore the local jetty and foreshore, become involved in a variety of sporting and community clubs, and enjoy local traditions such as the annual Smelters Picnic. On weekends, you will be well connected to Mount Remarkable National Park and surrounding conservation parks for camping and hiking, along with scenic gorge drives through the Flinders Ranges to historic inland towns. .
