Are you passionate about infrastructure, asset management and delivering positive outcomes for the community? We're looking for an Asset Officer to join our Infrastructure - Asset Strategy and Delivery team on a temporary full-time basis for up to two years.
This is an excellent opportunity to work across a diverse range of Council assets, including roads, stormwater, parks, open spaces and buildings, while gaining valuable experience in strategic asset management.
About the Role
Reporting to the Coordinator Asset Data and Systems, you'll provide technical support to the Strategic Asset Management team and contribute to the planning, maintenance and continuous improvement of Council's asset information and management systems.
Working collaboratively with internal teams, contractors and the community, you'll help ensure Council's assets are managed effectively to support long-term service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with asset planning activities, including data collection, validation, condition assessments and risk assessments.
- Maintain and update Council's asset registers, including spatial and asset data.
- Provide technical advice and support on asset management matters.
- Assist with contract administration and contractor supervision.
- Undertake site inspections, investigations and technical assessments.
- Prepare reports, correspondence and maintenance specifications.
- Respond to customer enquiries and liaise with community members and stakeholders.
- Support grant applications and funding administration for asset projects.
- Contribute to projects that improve Council's infrastructure and community outcomes.
About You
You are organised, analytical and enjoy solving problems. You have strong communication skills and can work effectively with a range of stakeholders while managing multiple priorities.
You'll also bring:
Essential
- Tertiary qualifications in Asset Management, Engineering, Building, Construction, Environmental Management, Horticulture, Landscape Design or a related discipline (or equivalent qualifications and/or relevant experience).
- Experience in asset management or a related infrastructure field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to research, analyse and interpret technical information and design drawings.
- Well-developed administrative and computer skills.
- Current Class C Driver Licence.
Desirable
- Experience working within local government or the public sector.
- Knowledge of local government policies, procedures and relevant legislation.
- Experience with community consultation and stakeholder engagement.
- Familiarity with contemporary asset management systems and GIS/spatial data.

- Package: $91,655 - $97,152 gross p.a. plus 12% superannuation.
- Hours of work: Temporary Full Time, Position is expected to be available up to July 2028. You will have the option of a 19 day month through Council’s Accrued Day Off system (ADO).
