The Medical Imaging Department at The Children's Hospital at Westmead is currently looking for a Staff Specialist to join their team on a permanent basis. The position is up to 1.0 FTE, equivalent to 40 hours per week.

· To enhance the Diagnostic Imaging service across all modalities for both inpatients and outpatients of the Hospital.
· Provide a consultative service to all Hospital Departments within CHW.
· This position would be suitable for Post Graduate Fellow progression following completion of at least 2 years of Paediatric Radiology training.

The preferred applicant may be considered for the award of a conjoint academic title (levels A to D) in the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney at a level commensurate with his/her qualifications and experience. The award of the academic title will also confer membership upon the appointee of the University Department of Paediatrics and Child Health. The academic title will be held for the duration of The Children's Hospital at Westmead appointment. No remuneration is attached to the University appointment. The appointee will be responsible to the University for academic matters and to The Children's Hospital at Westmead for clinical matters.

Please note: To be eligible for permanent appointment to a position in NSW Health, you must have an Australian citizenship or permanent Australian residency.



* Eligible for registration in NSW and Fellowship of the RANZCR and/or other specialist recognition as provided for in the Staff Specialist (State) Award. Post graduate academic qualifications.

- Fellowship trained in Paediatric Diagnostic Radiology. Either a minimum of two years of paediatric diagnostic radiology fellowship (which may include a period of subspecialty training) or a one-year paediatric diagnostic fellowship and subsequent substantive employment as a consultant in a children's hospital for at least a further year.
- Paediatric MRI expertise, a subspecialty may be an advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality compassionate medical care as evidenced by recent practice experience including working congenially and collaboratively as both a leader and member of a multiple radiologist and multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated ability to actively seek out improvements to service delivery, initiating change and consulting with those affected by the changes; allocating resources and proactively managing potential conflicts.
- Demonstrated ability to work with specialist paediatric clinical teams to support and optimise their capacity to deliver services.
- Commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate training, education and research, and a commitment to creative service development, customer focused service and ongoing professional development.
- Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time
