About the role
An opportunity has become available for a Registered Nurse with mental health experience to join the Bathurst Older Persons Mental Health (OPMH) team covering maternity leave. As a member of the OPMH team, you will support older people and their families by delivering comprehensive assessments, therapeutic interventions and care planning within a community setting, making a meaningful difference to mental health and wellbeing outcomes.
The role is an important part of a multidisciplinary team comprising nursing, social work, psychology, occupational therapy and psychiatry professionals, supported by a strong culture of teamwork, flexibility and clinical excellence. The role is responsible for conducting comprehensive mental health assessments, provide therapeutic support, coordinate care and work collaboratively with consumers, carers and partner services to promote positive mental health and wellbeing outcomes.
The successful applicant will work closely with the Team Leader, Clinical Leader and wider OPMH team, while benefiting from clinical supervision, professional mentoring and a comprehensive orientation program.
An individualised professional development pathway will support the development of specialist skills in older persons mental health, aligned with both service needs and your professional interests.
Working hours are 8:30am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday. This is a rewarding prospect to further your mental health nursing career while making a meaningful difference in the lives of older people across the Bathurst community
