Your new role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a new psychology graduate to build a strong foundation for their career through the 12-month Allied Health New Graduate Program within Metro South Addiction and Mental Health Services. You'll receive high-level support through training, professional development resources and supervision while developing your skills in a multidisciplinary clinical environment. You will:
- Deliver psychology services including clinical assessment, therapeutic intervention, patient education, management and discharge planning, working within an interprofessional team and under the guidance of senior staff.
- Develop your clinical judgement, caseload management, prioritisation, documentation and evidence-based practice across relevant addiction and mental health services.
- Work collaboratively with consumers, carers, families, health professionals, students and external agencies to achieve person-centred outcomes.
- Contribute to clinical education, quality improvement, service development and research activities while continuing to build your professional knowledge and expertise.
About you:
We're looking for an enthusiastic emerging psychologist who is committed to learning, developing their clinical capability and delivering compassionate, evidence-based and person-centred care.
- You have an APAC-accredited four-year Psychology qualification and are eligible for provisional or general registration with AHPRA/Psychology Board of Australia. Newly graduated psychologists commencing their first year of clinical practice in 2027 are eligible to apply.
- You can demonstrate the ability to provide high-quality, efficient, patient-centred and evidence-based psychology assessment and management.
- You bring robust verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within an interprofessional team to achieve the best outcomes for consumers.
- You are motivated to learn, actively develop your clinical knowledge and participate in professional development, clinical education and service improvement activities.

Metro South Addiction and Mental Health Services provide inpatient, hospital-based and community mental health and community alcohol and drug services for all age groups across a number of campuses.
