The Position

Our client is seeking a Staff Specialist Anaesthetist to join their team on a full-time basis, offering an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive hospital environment while contributing to a high-quality anaesthesia service.

Hospital
This Hospital is a Level 4 Specialist Service Base Hospital and the major referral hospital for one of Australia’s most unique and rewarding healthcare regions. The 80-bed facility serves a vast 300,000 km² catchment area, providing care to approximately 32,000 people across remote Northwest Queensland.
The Emergency Department manages around 28,000 to 32,000 presentations each year, offering clinicians exposure to a wide range of complex and diverse cases, as well as strong procedural and hands-on experience.
The Hospital has undergone significant redevelopment in recent years, with upgraded facilities including a new Emergency Department, modern Outpatients Department, dedicated Mental Health outpatient unit, Cancer Care Centre, and Paediatrics Unit. Clinicians also benefit from close collaboration with the Royal Flying Doctor Service and other remote health services across the region.

The Requirements
One or more of the following:

- Hold or be eligible for Specialist Registration with AHPRA
- At least 12 months recent experience at a Consultant Anaesthetist level
- Hold or soon to hold Fellowship with ANZCA (FANZCA)
- All IMG's who are ready to submit their specialist assessment to ANZCA OR have already been assessed by ANZCA and found to be partially or substantially comparable.
