Our client is a leading manufacturer and distributor of automotive and ergonomic office products and is seeking an experienced Operations Lead to join their team at their manufacturing facility in Crestmead.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on and strategic operations professional to take ownership of manufacturing, people, safety, resources and facility management within a growing and industry-leading organisation.
The Role
As the Operations Lead, you will be responsible for the strategic direction and day-to-day leadership of the overall operation, including manufacturing processes, staff, resources, safety and facility management.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinate workflow across all departments to ensure quality products are produced and customer requirements are consistently met.
- Oversee the selection and procurement of raw materials for projects.
- Maintain ongoing communication with customers regarding quality, delivery and other key operational requirements.
- Manage and oversee Quality Assurance processes.
- Manage material planning, forecasting, production scheduling and cost control.
- Manage contracts and monitor the provision of services to ensure agreed standards and requirements are maintained.
- Ensure customer orders are scheduled in the most efficient and economical manner.
- Monitor and control work in progress.
- Manage the repairs and maintenance of the facility and equipment.
- Contribute to the strategic direction of the business by proactively identifying new opportunities and markets.
- Develop and implement operational strategies, processes and procedures to improve manufacturing performance.
- Champion business change and provide solid leadership across all areas of employee management.
- Determine equipment, material and manpower requirements for project execution.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the business.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Monitor and proactively enforce compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS), Safety Management System (SMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS).
- Promote and maintain safe work practices and behaviours at all times.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar operations or manufacturing leadership role.
- Proven leadership, supervisory, people management and negotiation skills.
- A strong understanding of safety and quality management requirements within a manufacturing environment.
- A proactive and results-driven approach, with a strong focus on meeting deadlines and achieving financial objectives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Sound computer skills, including the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent team-building and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
- A commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
