For the Litigator Who Wants More Than Just Another Case Load
Many litigation roles promise complexity. Few offer the chance to work on a matter of genuine national significance alongside senior lawyers trusted to deliver for the Commonwealth. This is one of those opportunities.
The Firm
This national commercial firm has built a strong reputation for its disputes, investigations and regulatory work, acting for state and federal governments, regulated entities, listed companies and SMEs across Australia. The Brisbane team is known for both the quality of its work and the accessibility of its partners, giving lawyers exposure to a diverse range of industries, clients and litigation challenges early in their careers.
The Timing
The practice is continuing to grow and is looking to add a 2-4 year PAE litigator to its Brisbane team. It's an opportunity to step into sophisticated disputes work while taking on meaningful responsibility and client engagement from the outset.
The Work Itself
You'll work closely with the Partner and a national team of lawyers on a critical Commonwealth Government matter. The role combines complex disputes work, stakeholder engagement and strategic problem-solving, with genuine responsibility from day one. Rather than being one of many junior lawyers on a file, you'll be trusted to contribute meaningfully to a matter with real public importance.
Where You'll Land
The culture strikes a balance that's increasingly difficult to find in litigation: high-quality work without the expectation that work comes before everything else. Flexible working arrangements, 26 weeks paid parental leave, structured professional development and a genuine focus on wellbeing support lawyers to build successful careers over the long term.
Sound Like You?
You're a commercial disputes lawyer with 2-4 years' post-admission experience gained within a reputable litigation practice. You have strong drafting and analytical skills, enjoy working through complex legal issues and communicate confidently with clients and stakeholders. Just as importantly, you're someone who thrives in a collaborative setting and wants to continue learning from highly regarded practitioners. Given the nature of the work, you'll either hold, or be eligible to obtain, a Baseline Security Clearance.
