Mackay Regional Council is currently seeking a skilled and details-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our Water Treatment team which pride themselves on innovation, quality, and a commitment to making a positive impact on the Mackay Region. This position is permanent full-time working a 9-day fortnight.
About this opportunity:
As a key member of our team, you will work at our state-of-the-art Water and Waste Scientific and Analytical Services laboratory located at Connors Road Paget. This is a permanent full-time position with great benefits. The key tasks of the role are to conduct sampling, chemical, and microbiological testing of water and wastewater samples within our NATA-accredited laboratory.
Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
- Possess a formal qualification in laboratory work, such as Certificate III in Laboratory Techniques or an equivalent.
- Hold a current "C" class driver's licence.
- Demonstrate proficiency in using Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Have practical experience in routine sampling and analysis techniques.
- Candidates with previous analytical experience in inorganic or organic chemistry will be highly desirable
In addition to the above, we also offer the following benefits:
- Base annual salary of $ 77,828.08 to 86,710.48 + allowances as applicable
- Up to 18% superannuation (conditions apply).
