We provide care within both hospital and community settings to support people living with mental illness at times when acute intervention is needed, or to remain well in their community and lead their own recovery.

The Senior Rehabilitation clinician will plan, coordinate, and implement high quality care to consumers of St George Community Mental Health Service. Embedded in the clinical team, they will provide rehabilitation and care coordination to complex consumers and mentor and support junior clinicians as well as support the Clinical Manager.

If you are an overseas qualified Social Worker, you are required to have your qualifications assessed by the AASW to meet the position criteria.

The position is based at Kirk Place , Kogarah , working with the Community Mental Health Team for St George Mental Health Service

Selection Criteria:

1. Tertiary qualifications in Social Work and eligible for membership with AASW.



Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy or Psychology (with a minimum four-year degree with a major in Psychology and registration with the Psychologists Board of Australia) and registered with AHPRA . Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 to be registered with AHPRA with relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years' experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification or such other qualifications or experience deemed relevant to this role.
2. Extensive post graduate experience in mental health clinical and vocational rehabilitation with knowledge of best practice principles and models of practice; and ability to plan, implement and evaluate individual and group rehabilitation programs, and demonstrated commitment to consumer participation, and a strengths based and recovery focused approach in service provision.
3. Demonstrated ability to manage complex clinical care and service delivery issues and problem solve through the development and use of clinical management plans. Demonstrated advanced clinical reasoning skills and leadership in navigating challenging and complex consumer care situations.
4. Demonstrated commitment to consumer participation, and a strengths-based and recovery focused approach in service provision.
5. Demonstrated skills in the development and facilitation of patient and carer education and experience in the structured career development of clinicians.
6. Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others.
7. Demonstrated experience in initiating and conducting activities to improve clinical service delivery and patient clinical outcomes.
8. Current drivers licence and willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position.
