We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Legal Assistant / Paralegal to join our Maroochydore team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast paced environment, brings a positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and is eager to further develop their legal career. We will support you with access to ongoing training and mentoring from experienced legal professionals.
Experience in Personal Injury Law will be highly regarded, although candidates with strong legal administration or paralegal experience from other practice areas are encouraged to apply.
The Role
This is a diverse and busy role and you will be required to perform the following but not limited duties including mandatory legal assistant work that you have acquired in your previous employment:
- Open new matters;
- Transcription of a high volume of dictation;
- Preparing and proof reading of court documents and drafting correspondence;
- Preparing briefs to counsel;
- File, schedule management and research;
- Proactively communicate and liaise with external clients including doctors;
- Following up on requests for medical reports from doctors and other experts;
- Close & electronically archive files; and
- Ongoing general administration duties.
The candidate
- Must have at least two (2) years' Legal Assistant / Paralegal experience;
- Exceptional organisational and communication skills;
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities;
- A proactive, team-focused approach to tasks;
- Typing speed of 65+ words per minute;
- iManage and Aderant Express experience would be highly desirable, however, not essential with full induction training provided;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Personal Injury Law experience (advantageous)
Salary will be commensurate with the successful applicant’s experience.
