People & Culture Support Officer | 3-Week Temporary Assignment

Are you an experienced HR or People & Culture qualified looking for a short-term opportunity where you can step in and make an immediate contribution?
We are seeking a capable and organised People & Culture Support Officer to join a well-established community organisation in Seddon for a 3-week temporary assignment, covering a period of annual leave.
Working as part of the People & Culture team, you will provide hands-on support across recruitment, onboarding, compliance and general HR administration. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied role, is confident working autonomously and can quickly pick up existing systems and processes.
The opportunity
- 3-week temporary assignment commencing 27 August
- Full-time - 38 hours per week
- $50.61 per hour
- Paid weekly
- Office-based in Seddon
- Supportive People & Culture environment
- Varied role across recruitment, onboarding, compliance and HR administration
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting recruitment processes, including advertising, interview coordination and reference and compliance checks
- Preparing employment contracts and HR correspondence
- Coordinating onboarding documentation and employee inductions
- Maintaining accurate employee records and HR systems
- Monitoring police checks, Working with Children Checks and other mandatory compliance requirements
- Responding to enquiries through the People & Culture inbox
- Assisting with HR system updates and routine workforce reporting
- Monitoring employee training and following up outstanding compliance requirements
- Providing general administrative and operational support to the People & Culture team
- Assisting with HR projects and other P&C; initiatives as required
About you
To be successful, you will ideally bring:
- Previous experience within HR, People & Culture or a similar HR administration role
- Experience supporting recruitment and employee onboarding
- Excellent administration and organisational skills
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately in a busy environment
- Confidence managing confidential and sensitive information
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to quickly learn systems and processes and hit the ground running
- HR qualifications or relevant equivalent experience
As this position is covering annual leave for a short period, we are particularly interested in candidates who are available to commence on 27 August to allow for a few days of hand over before the outgoing staff member goes on annual leave, and can commit to the full 3-week assignment.
