Group Payroll Officer

MAAS Group Holdings (MGH) is a diversified multi-national organisation operating across Real Estate, Construction Materials, Civil & Construction Hire, and Manufacturing. As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Group Payroll Officer to support our centralised payroll function and help deliver exceptional payroll outcomes across the Group.
About the Role
You will be responsible for the accurate, compliant and timely processing of payroll across multiple business entities. This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced payroll professional who enjoys working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering exceptional service and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Process end-to-end weekly and fortnightly payrolls across multiple entities.
- Manage employee payroll records, including new starters, terminations and employment changes.
- Interpret and apply Modern Awards, Enterprise Agreements and employment contracts.
- Process leave, overtime, allowances, deductions, back pays and termination payments.
- Prepare and lodge Single Touch Payroll (STP) reporting.
- Assist with payroll tax, superannuation and statutory compliance obligations.
- Reconcile payroll accounts and support month-end and year-end processes.
- Respond to payroll enquiries from employees, managers and stakeholders.
- Support audits and maintain payroll data integrity.
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and efficiencies.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Experience in end-to-end payroll processing within a medium to large organisation.
- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
- Proven ability to interpret Awards, Enterprise Agreements and employment contracts.
- Experience with payroll systems, with Employment Hero experience highly regarded.
- Knowledge of payroll tax, superannuation, PAYG withholding and STP reporting.
- Strong reconciliation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- A professional and confidential approach to handling sensitive employee information.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
