Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Senior Pharmacy Technician to join the Pharmacy Department and work in our new Compounding Suite.
Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north.
Services are provided through our six main campuses:
Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.

About the Role:
A permanent, full time opportunity exists for a Grade 4 Senior Pharmacy Technician - Team Leader Compounding Services (TH14 - Pharmacy Technician Grade 4 + 10% Seniors Allowance)
The role will require staff to be flexible with their working hours to meet the changing operations demands and will include working after hours and on-call. Staff will be required to travel and work across the various Northern Health campuses, programs, and partner organisations.
The Grade 4 Senior Pharmacy Technician - Team Leader Compounding Services will be responsible for the management and day-to-day operations of technicians within the compounding suite. They will work closely with the Senior Pharmacist - Compounding Services to provide oversite and training for the area in accordance with department requirements, and be responsible for the development and maintenance of local guidelines and processes that ensure the safe and efficient production of compounded products in line with regulatory standards.
They will work collaboratively with the Pharmacy Department to achieve the strategic outcomes of the Department.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- A minimum of 5 years full time experience as a qualified Pharmacy Technician
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in aseptic production
- Experience in supervision and development of staff including Pharmacy Technicians
- Demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills
- Possess well developed self-management skills including the ability to meet timelines and prioritise competing demands
- Have a firm understanding of relevant standards related to compounding sterile pharmaceuticals and development of procedures and policies to ensure compliance with these standards.
