As an Aged Care Comprehensive Assessor, you'll use your professional expertise to make a real difference in the lives of older Australians while exploring the diverse and vibrant communities of Far North Queensland. No two days are the same. You'll travel throughout the region, meeting new people, working in different locations, and helping individuals access the services and support they need to live independently and enjoy the best possible quality of life.
This is the perfect opportunity for someone who enjoys being on the move, building connections, and experiencing new workplaces and communities. Daily travel is an essential part of the role, taking you across your service area to deliver support where it's needed most while offering a unique and rewarding variety that office-based roles simply can't match.
Your Role:
- High-Quality Assessments: Conduct thorough Aged Care Assessments to identify the needs of older adults.
- Service Referrals: Facilitate referrals to essential services that support independent living.
- Promote Functionality: Actively promote the retention and maximization of function and capability in daily living.
- Engage Stakeholders: Work closely with families and carers, recognizing them as key stakeholders.
- Compliance: Ensure all assessments are conducted in line with Department of Health contractual requirements.
Must haves:
- Tertiary education in a health-related discipline (see below)
- Current unrestricted General Registration with AHPRA or relevant professional association
- At least 1 year in aged care, including client assessments and/or service delivery
- Current Australian driver’s licence, comprehensively insured vehicle, and the ability to travel within your service area
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and client management systems
