Senior IT Operations Mobilisation & Service Transition Project Manager Melbourne Based | Hybrid | 10-Month Contract | Major Healthcare Transformation

A leading healthcare organisation is undertaking a significant technology transformation and is establishing a new independent IT operating model.
We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Operations Mobilisation & Service Transition Project Manager to lead the transition of technology services into a newly established IT Operations setting. This role will play a critical part in ensuring service readiness, operational governance, provider coordination, and a successful transition to BAU operations.

This is not a traditional project delivery role. You will be responsible for orchestrating multiple stakeholders, vendors, service providers and technology teams to create a sustainable, operationally ready IT workplace.

The Opportunity You will take ownership of the overall mobilisation and service transition roadmap, ensuring operational readiness across applications, infrastructure, service management, cyber security interfaces, cloud platforms, data services and digital workplace technologies.

Key responsibilities include:

- Establishing and managing the integrated mobilisation plan, critical path, RAID logs and governance framework.
- Driving service readiness, acceptance and transition activities across multiple workstreams.
- Developing service management processes aligned to ITIL best practice.
- Coordinating service catalogue, operating model and ownership frameworks.
- Managing vendors and service providers to ensure operational readiness and service integration.
- Leading service acceptance, risk management, hypercare planning and operational governance.




- Supporting the mobilisation of the future BAU team and facilitating a controlled handover into ongoing operations.

About You You are a senior Project Manager with proven experience commissioning and transitioning technology services into operational environments.

You will ideally bring:
Essential Experience

- Leading large-scale IT service transition, mobilisation, outsourcing, insourcing or service integration initiatives.
- Strong ITIL and IT Service Management experience across Incident, Problem, Change, Knowledge and Request Management.
- Experience implementing or enhancing ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, HALO or similar.
- Delivery of service readiness, operational acceptance and transition governance activities. Experience operating within complex multi-vendor environments.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, governance and executive communication skills.
- Ability to influence outcomes and drive decisions without direct line authority.

Highly Regarded

- Experience working within healthcare, critical infrastructure or other highly regulated industries.
- Separation, merger or large transformation program experience.
- Service Desk establishment or operational capability uplift experience.
- Exposure to Cyber Security Operations, MDR, SOC or security service integration.
- ITIL, PMP, PRINCE2 or similar certifications.
