The role

You will lead the successful delivery of multiple concurrent high voltage projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

You will take ownership of the full project lifecycle, from planning and procurement, to scheduling, subcontractor management, execution, commissioning and client handover.

You will build the program, run the numbers, manage the subbies and front the client yourself. The autonomy is genuine and it is one of the best features of the job.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Managing high voltage projects from award through to completion;

- Building and maintaining strong client and network operator relationships;

- Coordinating site teams, subcontractors and suppliers;

- Managing project budgets, forecasting and cost control;

- Developing project schedules and monitoring progress;

- Managing procurement, long-lead items and subcontractor performance;

- Identifying and mitigating project risks;

- Ensuring compliance with safety, quality and environmental requirements;

- Providing regular project reporting and stakeholder updates;

- Supporting commissioning, energisation and final project delivery.

About you

You are a practical, solutions-focused Project Manager who understands the realities of delivering high voltage work, and who is comfortable close enough to the detail to know exactly where every job stands.

You may have come up through an electrical trade and progressed into project management, or hold an electrical engineering qualification and you already have HV projects under your belt.

To be successful, you will bring:





- Demonstrated experience delivering high voltage electrical projects in a contracting environment;

- An electrical trade qualification or electrical engineering degree;

- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects;

- Strong commercial and financial management skills, including accountability for project margin;

- Working knowledge of Australian standards, HV switching and network operator requirements;

- Experience coordinating subcontractors and site-based workforces;

- A knowledge of civil works required for infrastructure works;

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills;

- A strong commitment to safety, quality and environmental performance;

- A proactive approach and the discipline to keep stakeholders informed without being chased;

- Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel to sites as required.
