We’re looking for an experienced Maintenance Plasterer & Painter to join our growing property maintenance team.

This role is ideal for someone who can take a repair from damage through to a finished result — assessing the issue, completing the plaster repair, preparing the area and finishing it with quality painting work.

You’ll be working across residential properties throughout Melbourne, completing everything from small patches and touch-ups through to larger ceiling and wall repairs, make-good works and full-room painting.

We need someone who is reliable, organised, confident working independently and takes genuine pride in leaving a quality finished product.

The Role

As a Maintenance Plasterer & Painter, your day-to-day work will include:

- Plaster patching and repairs

- Wall and ceiling repairs

- Water-damaged plaster repairs

- Repairing cracks, holes and damaged areas

- Replacing damaged plasterboard sections

- Ceiling repairs and replacement

- Cornice repairs and replacement

- Stopping, base coating and top coating

- Sanding and preparing repaired areas

- Plaster repairs following plumbing, electrical and other trade works

- Preparing walls, ceilings, doors, trims and other surfaces for painting

- Painting repaired plaster areas

- Colour matching and blending repairs where possible

- Cutting in, rolling and brush work

- Painting walls, ceilings, doors, skirting boards and architraves

- Completing touch-ups and make-good painting

- Repainting rooms and larger areas where required

- Identifying and treating minor surface preparation issues before painting

- Protecting floors, furniture and surrounding areas before commencing work

- Leaving properties clean and presentable once works are complete

- Taking explicit before, during and after photos

- Identifying and reporting additional works required

- Communicating professionally with tenants, property managers and our office team

What We’re Looking For

You’ll ideally have:

- Strong experience in both plastering and painting

- Experience in maintenance, repairs, renovations or make-good works

- Excellent plaster finishing and preparation skills

- Strong painting and finishing ability

- Confidence completing a repair from initial preparation through to final paint

- Ability to achieve a clean finish in existing and occupied properties

- Good colour-matching and touch-up skills

- Strong attention to detail

- Good fault-finding and problem-solving ability

- Confidence working independently

- Positive communication and customer service skills

- Strong time management and organisation

- Current Victorian driver licence

- Own hand tools

- A professional, reliable and positive attitude

Experience working in rental properties, real estate maintenance, insurance repairs, renovations or facilities maintenance will be highly regarded.

The Person We Want

We’re looking for someone who takes ownership of the entire finished result, not someone who considers the job finished once the hole has been patched.

When you leave a property, we want the customer to look at the repair and struggle to tell there was ever damage there in the first place.

You’ll suit this role if you:

- Take genuine pride in your finishing work

- Have strong plastering and painting skills

- Can assess damage and determine the best repair method

- Understand the importance of preparation

- Work cleanly and respect occupied homes

- Can work independently without constant supervision

- Take ownership of your jobs from start to finish

- Communicate when something changes or additional work is required

- Can manage multiple maintenance jobs throughout the day

- Enjoy variety rather than working on the same construction site every day

- Want to be part of a growing company where good tradespeople can progress

What We Offer

- Full time, reliable employment

- Market-competitive salary/package based on experience

- Company vehicle and fuel

- Consistent Monday–Friday work

- Variety of plastering, painting and maintenance work

- Strong office and scheduling support

- Established systems and processes

- Opportunity to develop into senior or supervisory positions

- A growing business with opportunities for people who want to progress

Why Join Us?

We’re building a maintenance business focused on quality workmanship, strong communication and getting the job completed properly from start to finish.

Having tradespeople who can complete multiple stages of a repair is a big part of that.

Rather than sending one person to patch a wall and another person back to paint it, we want capable tradespeople who can take ownership of the repair and deliver the finished product.

If you’re an experienced plasterer and painter who enjoys maintenance work, problem-solving and having variety in your day, we’d like to hear from you.

Apply now with your resume and a brief introduction outlining your plastering, painting and maintenance experience.
