Location: Gruyere Gold Mine / Welshpool Office
Roster: 5:2, 5:2, 4:3 (split between site and Perth office)

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain the injury management database, ensuring accurate and detailed records are kept.
- Review medical assessments and provide advice to Human Resources and site operations on both new and existing employees, while promoting a culture of early intervention.
- Develop Return to Work (RTW) plans in line with medical guidance and in consultation with key stakeholders.
- Coordinate bookings, treatments, fitness-for-work assessments, and medical follow-ups in accordance with established RTW plans, ensuring compliance with relevant State or Territory workers’ compensation legislation.
- Provide direction, advice, and education to HSEQ on the organisation’s injury management processes.
- Submit Workers’ Compensation (WC) and Income Protection (IP) claims.
- Liaise with insurers to ensure ongoing strategic management of claims, with a focus on cost mitigation and timely return to work.

- Support site teams in coordinating doctor and allied health reviews for injured workers referred to the Injury Management team.

About You

You are a collaborative and proactive injury management professional who thrives in a unique and supportive environment and enjoys building strong stakeholder relationships.

You will bring:

- Demonstrated experience in injury management, ideally within the Mining and Resources sector or other heavy industries, with a strong understanding of return-to-work practices and early intervention strategies.
- Tertiary qualifications in Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Exercise Physiology, or a related discipline.
- Experience managing workers’ compensation and income protection claims, including working with insurers and coordinating medical services.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to influence, engage, and work collaboratively across teams including operations, HR, and HSEQ.
- Experience developing and implementing Return to Work (RTW) plans aligned with medical advice and legislative requirements.
- Sound conflict resolution skills, with the ability to navigate sensitive situations and achieve positive outcomes for both employees and the business.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands across multiple sites and stakeholders.
