Ag Retail 2IC / Assistant Manager

About the role

This is an exciting prospect to join BrownWigg as a 2IC to our Traralgon Store Manager.

As the Retail 2IC, you will be a key leader on the shop floor. You will support the Store Manager in daily operations, step up to lead the store in their absence, and act as a mentor to our retail casuals and assistants. Your primary focus will be driving sales, maintaining high visual standards, and fostering a customer-first store culture.

What you'll be doing

1. Manage all daily store operations including opening/closing procedures, cash handling, and inventory management

1. Lead, motivate, and develop the sales team, providing coaching and training to ensure stellar customer service

2. Implement and monitor store policies and procedures to maintain a safe, efficient, and compliant working environment

3. Ensure the store's visual merchandising and product presentation meet company standards

4. Handle customer inquiries and complaints in a professional and timely manner

The successful applicant will possess the following Key Selection Criteria:

1. Minimum 3 years of experience as an Assistant Store Manager or senior salesperson in the agricultural or related retail industry.

2. Proven experience in sales; including meeting set targets, building and maintaining solid relationships with customers and other stakeholders and sound negotiation skills.

3. Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a team.

4.



Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach.

5. Ability to effectively represent the company with a positive outlook, a desire for personal growth and pride in personal presentation.

6. Operational Literacy, confident with point-of-sale (POS) systems, basic math, and inventory reporting.
