If you want to make a difference by having a positive impact on peoples’ lives, then a career with Independence Australia Group may be for you.

About us

Independence Australia Group is a social enterprise that provides choice for people with a disability or other personal need, enabling them to regain and retain their independence within an inclusive community.

About the role

You will be responsible for the day-to-day administration and coordination of the National Epidermolysis Bullosa Dressing Scheme (NEBDS), a vital Commonwealth-funded program that supports Australians living with this rare and complex condition.

Working closely with patients and their families, healthcare professionals, government stakeholders, suppliers, warehouse teams, and advocacy organisations, you will help ensure the seamless delivery of the scheme and timely access to essential wound care products and support services.

What you will be doing

You will be the first point of contact for the NEBDS team, playing a crucial role in facilitating smooth operations.

You will be responsible for:

- Application processing and compliance: process approved NEBDS patient applications.
- Customer order processing and fulfilment: process customer orders, confirm delivery details and finalise payments.
- Customer scripts and product support: record, update and maintain customer scripts and assist customers with alternative product options as required.
- Administration and secretariat support: provide administrative and secretariat services including scheduling meetings, coordinating logistics, preparing meeting agendas, papers and minutes, and distributing documentation as required.
- Reporting, data and records management: maintain accurate and up to date records, including timely recording of service delivery interactions.

What we are looking for

- Effective communication: you articulate information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, while actively listening to customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
- Customer service excellence: you exhibit a friendly and customer-oriented approach, ensuring everyone feels valued and respected during interactions.
- Attention to detail: you pay meticulous attention to accuracy in customer information, scheduling, and administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations.
- Dependability: you consistently arrive on time, follow through on tasks, and fulfill commitments to support smooth operations.
- Empathy and compassion: you demonstrate genuine concern for customer’s well-being, understand their needs, and provide a comforting and supportive atmosphere.
- Confidentiality: you safeguard sensitive information and comply with privacy regulations, maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality.

If you possess the above skills and have a knowledge of Epidermolysis Bullosa (including its types, causes, and the challenges it presents to patients), knowledge of clinical aspects of EB (including wound care, pain management, and the importance of specialized dressing and treatment options for EB patients), or experience in a similar role within the Australian Healthcare system, we would love to hear from you!
