Assistant Café Manager — Little Luxton

Full-time | $70,000–$78,000 + super, depending on experience

Little Luxton is looking for an organised, energetic and people-focused Assistant Café Manager to help keep our café running smoothly and our team supported.

We’re looking for someone who loves hospitality, enjoys working with people and is equally comfortable leading a team, making a great coffee and getting stuck into the day-to-day details behind the scenes.

The role

Working alongside the Café Manager, you’ll help oversee the daily operations of Little Luxton and make sure everything is organised, well-stocked and running smoothly.

Your responsibilities will include:

Preparing and managing staff rosters

Coordinating staff availability and shifts

Ordering food, coffee, beverages and other supplies

Monitoring stock levels and minimising waste

Supporting day-to-day café operations

Assisting with staff training and onboarding

Providing friendly, welcoming customer service

Working alongside the team during busy service periods

Supporting cash handling and daily administration

Assisting with invoices, records and general café administration

Helping maintain food safety, workplace health and safety and café standards

Supporting the Café Manager with team leadership and operational improvements

Opening and/or closing the café as required

About you

We’re looking for someone who is:

Experienced in café, hospitality or customer service

Highly organised and able to manage multiple things at once

Confident using rosters, ordering systems and basic administration





A natural team leader who brings out the best in others

Friendly, approachable and great with people

Reliable, responsible and willing to take ownership

Calm and practical when things get busy

Comfortable working hands-on in a café environment

Passionate about good coffee, food and creating a outstanding customer experience

Barista experience is highly desirable. A hospitality qualification or previous supervisory/management experience would be an advantage.

Hours: Primarily weekday daytime hours, with some Saturday work as required
