About The Role
As a Senior Planner at BMD, you will take a lead role across both pre‑contracts and project delivery, driving the development of high‑quality, fully integrated construction programs and planning strategies. Acting as a trusted advisor to project and bid teams, you will provide strategic input into methodology, sequencing and risk management, ensuring optimal outcomes across complex infrastructure projects.
This role is suited to an experienced planning professional with a strong engineering or delivery background, looking to influence project performance at a senior level while mentoring others and shaping best practice across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development of tender and delivery programs across multiple projectsProvide strategic planning advice to senior stakeholders and leadership teamsAnalyse tender documentation to identify program, risk and commercial impactsDevelop fully resourced,
cost‑loaded and risk‑adjusted construction programsDrive planning strategy through tender, negotiation and project delivery phasesOversee progress monitoring, reporting, KPIs and earned value performanceLead delay analysis, claims support and extension of time assessmentsIdentify key risks and opportunities, implementing mitigation strategiesMentor and guide planners and project teams to uplift planning capabilityChampion continuous improvement in planning systems, tools and processes
About You
You will ideally have:
7+ years’ experience across civil construction or infrastructure projectsExtensive experience in planning on major or complex projectsStrong commercial acumen and understanding of contract frameworksAdvanced expertise in planning software (e.g. Primavera P6, MS Project)Proven ability to lead planning across multiple projects or tendersStrong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills at all levelsExperience mentoring or leading planning teamsCivil Engineering or related qualification preferred
