DME Engineering Services Australia is seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to coordinate mechanical maintenance activities for one of our industrial clients in the Tumut region.

You will lead a small site-based crew carrying out planned maintenance, breakdown and shutdown work, supported day to day by a Leading hand, Area Engineer and DME’s wider site team.

The Opportunity

As Site Supervisor, you will provide day-to-day leadership, planning and coordination for maintenance activities onsite.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Coordinating planned maintenance, breakdown and shutdown work

- Working with the leading hand to allocate labour and communicate daily work priorities





- Conducting pre-start meetings and coordinating work fronts

- Ensuring permits, isolations, JSEAs and site procedures are followed

- Monitoring the safety, quality and progress of work

- Liaising with client representatives, operations personnel, the Area Engineer and other DME support personnel as required

- Completing required job, maintenance and handover documentation

About You

To be successful in this position, you will have:

- A recognised Mechanical Fitting, Fabrication or relevant mechanical trade qualification

- Previous supervisory or leading-hand experience in industrial maintenance

- Experience within a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment will be highly regarded

- Strong planning, coordination and problem-solving skills

- A sound understanding of permits, isolations, JSEAs and safe systems of work

- The ability to provide transparent direction to tradespeople with varying levels of experience

- Strong communication skills and a professional approach when dealing with clients

- A practical and calm approach when priorities change

- A strong commitment to safety, quality and productivity

This position may also suit an experienced leading hand who is ready to move into a formal Site Supervisor role.

Salary and Benefits

This position offers:

- $140,000 base salary

- Superannuation paid in addition

- Overtime and shutdown opportunities

- $2,500 sign-on bonus — *$1,000 upfront and the balance following successful completion of probation

- Paid 30-minute lunch break each day
