Home Migration Services We are seeking an experienced Carpenter to perform skilled carpentry work associated with demolition, structural alteration, refurbishment and construction projects. Benefits

Task & responsibilities

- Read and interpret plans, drawings, specifications and work instructions.
- Measure, mark, cut, shape and assemble timber and other construction materials.
- Construct, install, repair and alter wall frames, roof framing, flooring, doors, windows and other building components.
- Build and install temporary supports, hoardings, barriers, formwork and protective structures.
- Undertake controlled dismantling and deconstruction of timber-framed structures.
- Identify structural elements and ensure temporary supports are installed before components are removed.
- Repair and reinstate structures affected by demolition or alteration work.
- Install fixtures, fittings, internal linings, cladding and finishing components.
- Select appropriate materials, tools and construction methods for each project.




- Inspect completed work to ensure it is level, secure and compliant with plans and specifications.
- Coordinate with supervisors, demolition workers, tradespeople and subcontractors.
- Maintain tools, equipment and a safe, organised work area.
- Follow workplace health and safety, environmental and quality requirements.

Qualification & experience Applicants must have:

- a relevant Certificate III qualification in Carpentry or an equivalent trade qualification;
- at least two years of relevant post-qualification employment experience as a Carpenter;
- demonstrated experience in structural carpentry, alterations, refurbishment or demolition-related carpentry;
- the ability to interpret plans, take accurate measurements and work independently;
- sound knowledge of construction methods, materials and workplace safety requirements;
- experience using hand tools, power tools and carpentry equipment;
- solid attention to detail and problem-solving skills; and
- a current driver’s licence.

A White Card is mandatory. Relevant high-risk work licences, asbestos-awareness training, demolition-industry experience and first-aid certification will be highly regarded.
