About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Field Service Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team.
In this varied role, you will split your time between our Bunbury facility and field service work at client locations, delivering high-quality maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics across heavy plant, equipment, road transport, earthmoving machinery, and cranes. No two days are the same!
Key Responsibilities
- Servicing & Maintenance: Perform routine servicing, preventive maintenance, and repairs on heavy plant, equipment, earthmoving machinery, road transport equipment, cranes, trucks, and trailers.
- Diagnostics: Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and air conditioning faults using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Field & Workshop: Travel to client locations for on-site support and emergency repairs, as well as work in our Bunbury facility.
- Record Keeping: Maintain detailed service records, job notes, tasks completed and logs of parts used.
- Safety: Maintain a safe, organised work area adhering strictly to health and safety protocols.
- Team & Customer Focus: Communicate effectively with customers regarding repairs and collaborate closely with your colleagues on complex tasks.
What We Are Looking For
Required:
- Valid C Class Driver's Licence (HR Driver's Licence highly desired).
- Trade Certificate – Automotive Heavy Vehicle Technology (or equivalent recognised mechanical qualification).
- White Card
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and ongoing assessments as required.
Preferred Experience & Attributes:
- Experience working on trucks, trailers, earthmoving, cranes, access equipment and heavy machinery.
- Strong diagnostic capabilities (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, A/C) and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- High attention to detail and a positive, team-focused attitude.
- High Risk Licenses (e.g., Dogging, C2 Crane, EWP, Forklift) are highly advantageous.
- Flexibility/willingness for optional away work.
