Multiple support worker roles — Adelaide Hills and metro Adelaide

Wheare Support Services supports people with disability across the Adelaide Hills and metro Adelaide. We're a small, hands-on team — you'll be known by name, not by a payroll number.

We're currently hiring several experienced male Support Workers to support participants with daily living and community participation.

About the role

You'll mostly work one-on-one with participants, with occasional 1:2 shifts supporting two participants at once. The work involves helping them get out, stay connected and build independence. Shifts are typically a mix of support at home and time in the community:

- Going for walks, grabbing a coffee, running errands

- Getting to appointments and activities

- Support with everyday living skills around the home

- Social connection and helping participants pursue their own interests and goals

- Occasional respite shifts

- Occasional short interstate trips supporting participants to travel

- Shift notes and incident reporting

Most shifts involve one or two activities at an easy pace, rather than a packed schedule. This role does not involve personal care.

We match workers to participants deliberately and keep those matches stable, so you build genuine relationships rather than meeting someone new every shift.

Work is available across the Adelaide Hills and metro Adelaide, and we build rosters around your availability.

Alongside regular shifts, we occasionally offer respite work and short interstate trips supporting participants to travel. These are entirely optional — if they're not for you, that's no problem, and if they are, they're a genuinely enjoyable part of the job.

What you'll bring

Essential





- Previous paid support work experience

- Reliability and punctuality — participants plan their week around their supports, so this matters more than anything else on this list

- Good communication, patience and an easy-going manner

- Current Australian driver's licence and a confident driver — a fair bit of this role involves driving, including Hills and country roads. A work vehicle is provided.

- NDIS Worker Check (SA)

- Working with Children Check (SA)

- NDIS Worker Orientation Module — "Quality, Safety and You"

- First Aid and CPR (current / or willing to obtain)

- Full working rights in Australia

Highly regarded

- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability) or Community Services — a bonus, not essential. Solid hands-on experience matters more, and we'll support you to gain your Cert III.

A note on these roles
