CJ Mac Data & Electrical is looking for an experienced Fibre Technician to join our growing team in a permanent, full-time position.

We're looking for someone who knows their trade, takes pride in quality work and can confidently take ownership of a job. Someone who can get on the tools, solve problems in the field and, importantly, lead and develop the people working alongside them.

Your rate will be negotiated based on your skills, experience and capability , with additional earning opportunities through:

- Overtime

- Night works and shutdowns

- Regional project work

- Living Away From Home Allowance (LAFHA)

- Accommodation arranged for regional works where required

- Consistent, permanent full-time employment

? THE ROLE

You'll work across a range of telecommunications and infrastructure projects throughout metropolitan and regional South Australia, including:

- Fibre splicing, jointing and testing

- Ribbon and loose tube fibre

- OTDR testing and fault finding

- Network cutovers and complex fibre works

- Fibre joint enclosures and closures

- Reading plans and project documentation

- Testing and closeout documentation

- Troubleshooting and problem-solving in the field

- Coordinating works with civil and hauling crews

- Leading a crew and organising day-to-day works

- Night works and critical infrastructure shutdowns when required

MORE THAN JUST A GOOD TECHNICIAN

Technical capability is important, but we're also looking for the right kind of leader .





We want someone who can be a strong supervisor and role model for our crews — someone who communicates well, leads by example and can teach, encourage and inspire our trainees as they develop into skilled technicians.

You don't need to be a manager. You need to be someone people respect and learn from.

✅ WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

- Proven experience as a Fibre Technician / Fibre Splicer

- Strong splicing, testing and fault-finding capability

- Experience with OTDR and fibre testing equipment

- Strong understanding of telecommunications networks

- Ability to work independently and take ownership of jobs

- Ability to confidently lead and support a crew

- Strong communication and problem-solving skills

- Current Australian driver's licence

- Construction Industry White Card

- Commitment to safety and quality

Relevant telecommunications qualifications and major network/infrastructure experience will be highly regarded.
