UnitingCare Lithgow is seeking Direct Care Workers to join our teams in Lithgow and Bathurst .

We are currently recruiting casual Direct Care Workers , with a genuine opportunity to transition into permanent employment for the right people .

Our Direct Care Workers provide high-quality, person-centred support across our Disability and Aged Care services . Depending on the needs of the people you support, you may work in their homes, in-centre programs or within the community.

Positions are available in both locations. When applying, please state whether you are applying for the Lithgow position or the Bathurst position .

About the role

As a Direct Care Worker, you will:

- Provide respectful and practical support based on each client’s individual care plan

- Assist with personal care, daily living activities and community participation

- Support clients with different needs, preferences and levels of independence

- Communicate effectively with clients, families, carers, supervisors and other team members

- Complete progress notes, reports and other required documentation accurately and on time

- Record services provided using CareLink and other UCL systems

- Work safely and in accordance with UCL policies, procedures and care requirements





- Contribute positively to a supportive and respectful team environment

The current role profiles include providing in-home and in-centre services, supporting clients with varying needs, completing required reports and accurately recording services in CareLink.

About you

We are looking for someone who has:

- A caring, patient and respectful approach

- Positive communication and relationship-building skills

- The ability to work independently and as part of a team

- The ability to provide personal care and practical assistance with limited supervision

- Good organisation and basic written documentation skills

- Confidence using Microsoft 365, mobile devices and client management systems

- An understanding of person-centred support within Disability or Aged Care services

A Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, Ageing, Community Services or a similar qualification would be highly regarded.

Previous experience in Disability or Aged Care services , and experience using CareLink , would also be an advantage. The current role profiles list a relevant Certificate III as preferable and CareLink experience as desirable.

Essential requirements

The successful applicants will need:

- A current Class C NSW driver’s licence

- Access to a registered and comprehensively insured vehicle

- Access to a mobile phone

- A current First Aid Certificate

- A satisfactory Police Check

- A Working with Children Check

- An NDIS Worker Screening Check
