Lead Clinical Excellence in a Specialist AOD Service
Arrow Health is seeking an experienced and highly capable Nursing Team Leader to join our leadership team at The Bentinck , our residential AOD and Mental Health service in Woodend.
This is a senior clinical leadership role where you will drive high standards of nursing care, clinical governance, and workforce capability, while leading a dedicated team supporting individuals through recovery.
About the Role
As the Nursing Team Leader, you will be the direct line manager of the nursing team and a key clinical leader within the service.
You will:
- Lead and manage nursing staff supported by the Director of Nursing, providing clinical supervision, mentorship, and skill development
- Deliver advanced clinical leadership, supporting complex presentations in AOD and mental health
- Drive clinical excellence and consistency in withdrawal management and detox care
- Lead education, training, and upskilling initiatives to strengthen workforce capability alongside the Director of Nursing
- Ensure strong clinical governance, including audits, risk management, and compliance with NSQHS and AOD standards
- Support clinical operations including admissions, discharge planning, and care coordination
- Contribute to service development, program evaluation, and continuous improvement
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and contribute to organisational leadership
About You
You are a confident clinical leader who brings both advanced nursing expertise and a passion for developing others.
You will have:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Significant experience in AOD, mental health, withdrawal management, or acute care settings
- Demonstrated advanced clinical assessment, decision-making, and risk management skills
- Proven experience leading or supervising nursing staff
- Strong commitment to clinical education, mentorship, and workforce development
- Solid understanding of clinical governance, accreditation, and safety frameworks
- Excellent communication and leadership capability
Desirable
- 5 years clinical experience
- Experience in withdrawal/detox or complex AOD presentations
- Experience leading clinical education programs, competency frameworks, or in-service training
- Strong involvement in clinical audits, accreditation (NSQHS), and quality improvement
- Advanced knowledge of pharmacotherapy and medication management
