We’re on the hunt for a Senior Accountant to join our team.
About the Role
As our Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in managing the financial operations of two companies while collaborating with the group's Manufacturing and Administrative Managers as well as the Director. You will handle end-to-end accounting, support strategic decision-making, and deliver high-quality financial reporting across fast-moving businesses.
Key Responsibilities
· AP, AR and payroll processing together with preparing payment files for upload to bank.
o AP tasks include managing the integration with MRP platform and reconciliations with supplier accounts are completed monthly.
o Ensure leave and overtime records are prepared and approved prior to payroll processing.
· Prepare regulatory obligations (BAS, IAS, Payroll Tax) for lodgement by their due dates.
· Monitor cashflow (daily), maintaining rolling cash forecasts.
· Perform end of month processes including:
o General ledger maintenance and adjusting journal entries,
o Bank and balance sheet reconciliations,
o Inter-company loan account reconciliations,
o Prepare Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss Statements for each month and year to date.
· Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
· Identify and propose improvements to financial processes, accounting platforms and internal controls.
· Work closely with senior management, procurement and production planning teams to facilitate explicit communication.
About You
· Degree qualifications an advantage however this could be offset by proven and demonstrable skills in similar roles with greater than 5 years experience.
· Proven experience in financial reporting and general ledger management.
· Strong analytical skillset, an eye for detail while being able to keep an eye on the big picture.
· Extensive knowledge and experience with Xero, Office 365 applications.
· Excellent verbal and written communication and time management skills.
· Experience with Fishbowl inventory management and manufacturing software (MRP) advantageous.
