About the role

Lotus Holistic Medicine is seeking a senior receptionist to join our team in Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast. This is a full-time role that will see you playing a vital part in the smooth running of our medical and wellness practice.

As the first point of contact for our patients, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and improving policies and procedures to ensure a positive experience for all who visit, phone or deal with the practice.

What we're looking for

We hope to find a mature and accomplished person with the right mix of experience as a medical receptionist that has also managed operations to some degree. This is a varied and challenging role that would allow you to take charge of reception functions and streamline procedures for the benefit of the business and the intention of moving towards practice accreditation.

What you'll be doing

- Being the first contact and welcoming patients as they arrive

- Answering incoming phone calls and responding to patient enquiries

- Booking and managing patient appointments using Best Practice software

- Documenting and refining processes in the reception manual document

- Adding clinical notes to patients files when required and maintaining accurate medical records and patient files

- Assisting with billing, banking and debtor management

- Monitoring stock control of supplements until this becomes automated

- Changing patient appointments when required according to the practitioner's schedules

- Reviewing patient feedback and complaints and replying in a timely fashion

What we're looking for

- Previous experience as a medical receptionist - minimum of 3 years

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service

- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail





- Proficient in using medical practice software (such as Best Practice) and Microsoft 365 software suite

- Knowledge of holistic and/or integrated health practices would be desirable

- Experience with compiling policies & procedures and assisting with practice accreditation would be highly regarded

- A personal interest in holistic/integrative health will help you understand our patients better

- Ability to work alone or as part of a team
