Provide dedicated and coordinated midwifery care to vulnerable women and their babies with complex psychosocial needs, supporting improved perinatal outcomes and continuity of care up to six weeks postpartum.
The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Midwifery Navigator to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 14 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Provide coordinated care across hospital and community settings, liaising with government and non-government organisations
- Contribute to established pathways that enhance support and collaboration across the pregnancy and birth continuum
- Deliver trauma-informed midwifery care, particularly for women with court-ordered interventions
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
- Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Driver Licence
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent Part Time (53.2 hours per fortnight)
- Base salary ranging from $70.92 - $77.00 per hour
About Us
Millerri-Nyumbarlian Midwifery Navigator Service provides dedicated and coordinated Midwifery care to pregnant women with serious mental health conditions; women with alcohol and/ or drug dependence and women living with significant domestic violence.
Many women accessing this service have support from the Child Protection Unit and Child Safety Services (CSS). The Midwife Navigator provides coordinated care to the most vulnerable women who often have the highest psychosocial risk. The care continues for women and babies up to 6-weeks postpartum. The key objective of the service is to improve perinatal outcomes for the Gold Coast community's most vulnerable women and their babies.
