Find out more about CALHN sites and services, our stories and the opportunities to be part of CALHN About the Role As a Consultant Anaesthetist, you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional patient care while helping shape the future of anaesthetic services.
Working alongside a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, you'll provide expert clinical leadership, mentor the next generation of clinicians, and contribute to innovation, research and continuous improvement across the service. In this role, you will:
- Deliver expert anaesthetic care across a broad range of clinical services
- Lead complex clinical decision making and support best practice care
- Collaborate with surgeons, nurses and allied health professionals to achieve outstanding patient outcomes
- Supervise, coach and develop trainee medical officers, interns and medical students
- Foster a culture of learning,
collaboration and clinical excellence
- Contribute to clinical audit, quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
- Participate in clinical risk management and service improvement activities
- Support research and ongoing professional development
- Represent Anaesthetic Services on committees and working groups as required
- Build strong partnerships across the health service to enhance patient care
About You Are you an experienced Consultant Anaesthetist who combines clinical expertise with a team-oriented approach and a commitment to outstanding patient care. You'll bring the qualifications, specialist skills and passion for teaching and continuous improvement needed to thrive in this role.
- Specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia
- FANZCA or equivalent with TOE qualification
- Expertise in cardiothoracic anaesthesia and TOE
- Experience in clinical teaching and quality improvement
- Strong teamwork, communication and patient focus
