Western Cardiology is a large privately owned specialist practice with multiple service locations throughout the metropolitan and regional area.
We have an expert team of adult and paediatric cardiologists, along with our highly trained cardiac sonographers and technicians, who deliver world-class cardiac care in Perth and regional Western Australia.
About the role:
We are currently seeking a qualified and patient-focused Cardiac Sonographer to join our team.
A highly attractive sign-on bonus will be paid to the successful applicant upon commencement .
Full-time and part-time opportunities are available, Monday to Friday, working across multiple clinic locations. There is also the opportunity to earn additional bonuses for regional work.
This role offers exposure to a broad range of echocardiography, including inpatient and acute echocardiography through the Emergency Department, ICU and CCU, post-cardiac surgery, structural heart and TAVI procedures. There is also the opportunity to gain experience in paediatric echocardiography.
In this role, you will be required to independently perform echocardiograms and assisted stress echocardiograms, while being part of a supportive and collaborative team of clinicians and administrative staff committed to delivering exceptional patient care.
Role Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality echocardiographic examinations, including inpatient, acute, post-cardiac surgery, structural heart and TAVI studies, and stress echocardiograms
- Accurately capture, analyse and interpret cardiac imaging data
- Communicate findings clearly and professionally to the medical team
- Maintain detailed and accurate patient records in line with protocols and compliance standards
- Travel to other locations – both Metropolitan and Regional areas
- Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Provide exceptional care to patients and their families
- Contribute to the training and support of students and junior sonographers
About you:
- Hold a Graduate Diploma or equivalent qualification in Medical Ultrasound (Cardiac)
- Current registration with the Australian Sonographers Accredited Registry (ASAR)
- Meet and maintain CPD certification
- Minimum 12 months’ post-qualification scanning experience in Australia
- Experience using GE ultrasound machines and Synapse reporting software will be highly regarded
- Strong interpersonal, communication, report writing and time management skills
- Committed to patient care, team collaboration, and supporting the development of junior staff
- Hold current CPR certification, Driver’s Licence, valid National Police Clearance, and WWC Check
- Fully Covid-19 vaccinated
