Perth Landscape Guys
Perth
Flat out with work — we need more good hands on the ground.
Perth Landscape Guys (PLG) is a landscape construction company delivering high-quality residential and commercial projects across Perth. We've got more work than our current crews can keep up with, so we're bringing on another Leading Hand to help us deliver it — a steady, secure role with a busy pipeline of jobs.
And we're not just filling a gap. We're building a properly systemised business and a team that grows together over the long term — so we're after someone who wants to put down roots and grow with us. As the systems mature, everyone moves up with them.
About the role
You'll be part of the crew — on the tools, keeping work moving, and helping to run our sites day to day. What matters most here is a strong work ethic and a genuine willingness to learn; that's what makes the right person for this role. Bring the right attitude and we'll back you, train you in our systems, and grow your leadership over time.
What you'll be doing
- Working on the tools as part of the crew — keeping the day moving and helping run your section of the site
- Morning vehicle and machinery checks, and contributing to the daily 7:00am toolbox talk
- Passing on the day's tasks clearly so every crew member knows their job before the first tool is picked up
- Holding PLG's quality standard across hardscape and softscape — catching issues before they become rework
- Keeping the site safe — daily hazard checks, PPE and SWMS in place, and flagging anything unsafe
- Helping keep the crew productive and jobs on track, keeping an eye on labour hours
- Flagging material needs 24–48 hours ahead so the job never stops waiting on a delivery
- Keeping our project system (Buildertrend) up to date each day — tasks, photos and progress (full training provided)
- Representing PLG professionally on site with clients and subcontractors
What you'll need — the non-negotiables
- Current White Card (Construction Induction)
- Valid WA driver's licence (minimum C class)
- Solid hands-on landscaping or construction experience across hardscape and softscape
- The right attitude — reliable, coachable, high standards, and genuinely wanting to grow with a team for the long term
Great if you have
- Experience leading or coordinating a crew
- Cert III/IV in Horticulture, Landscaping or Construction Management
- Forklift, skid steer or excavator tickets
- Current First Aid
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specs
- Experience with CRM software
Who you are
Hard-working and accountable — you own your outcomes and don't need chasing. You're teachable, a solid communicator, and a forward thinker who plans ahead instead of reacting. And you're someone who wants to level up the role and bring your own experience to it, growing with us as the team and the systems develop.
What's in it for you
- Above-award pay + super, based on experience and reviewed as you progress
- Steady, secure work — we're busy and the pipeline is full
- A long-term home, we're building a team for the years ahead
- A real, mapped career path to Supervisor — promotion is earned on performance, not time served
- The chance to help shape and own our systems as we build them, and to mentor younger crew coming up behind you
- Full training on our systems — willingness to learn matters more than knowing them already
- Owners who genuinely care — PLG back their people's financial goals and their families, and love celebrating the team's hard work along the way
