Valrose is searching for an Oracle specialist with deep experience in production database migration or modernisation projects to join our client.
What you’ll be doing...Assessing Oracle database environments and application dependenciesDesigning and delivering database migration strategiesUsing enterprise migration and replication toolingSupporting data mapping, schema changes and database conversionReviewing SQL, PL/SQL, indexing and query performancePlanning data validation, rollback and production cutoverTroubleshooting issues across the database, application and infrastructure layersWorking with technical teams and senior stakeholdersProducing migration plans, technical documentation and delivery guidance
What you’ll bring to the role...Your substantial hands-on Oracle database experienceYour strong SQL and PL/SQL capabilityYour experience leading production database migrationsYour hands-on experience with database migration, replication or data movement toolsYour ability to identify dependencies between applications and database logicYour experience supporting testing, implementation and production cutoverYour ability to work at both the architecture and implementation levels
Your experience with the below would be highly regarded...PostgreSQL experienceHeterogeneous database migration experienceCloud-hosted or managed database platformsChange data capture and ongoing replicationSchema conversion or database restructuringMigration automation or scriptingConsulting or systems integration experience
