Quality Assurance Supervisor | Steel Manufacturing

Our client is a well-established steel processing and manufacturing business seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Supervisor/QA & Safety Officer to lead the company's quality systems while overseeing workplace health and safety across the operation.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who has built their career within steel processing, steel manufacturing or steel fabrication and enjoys driving quality, compliance and continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Working closely with production and management, you will take ownership of the Quality Management System, maintain compliance with relevant standards and support a proactive safety culture throughout the business.

Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance

- Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System.

- Develop, review and implement quality procedures and work instructions.

- Ensure compliance with ISO standards and customer requirements.

- Investigate non-conformances (NCRs), identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

- Conduct internal quality audits and monitor quality performance.

- Work closely with production to improve manufacturing processes and product quality.

- Prepare quality documentation, reports and management reviews.

- Promote a culture of continuous improvement throughout the business.

Workplace Health & Safety





- Maintain and improve workplace health and safety systems.

- Conduct workplace inspections, hazard identification and risk assessments.

- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.

- Coordinate inductions, toolbox meetings and safety training.

- Ensure compliance with WHS legislation and company procedures.

- Promote a positive safety culture across the organisation.

About You

To be successful, you will have:

- Previous Quality Assurance experience within steel processing, steel manufacturing or steel fabrication .

- Experience maintaining Quality Management Systems.

- Strong understanding of ISO 9001 principles and quality documentation.

- Experience investigating NCRs and implementing corrective actions.

- Previous supervisory or leadership experience.

- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively across production and management teams.

Essential

- Experience within a steel processing, steel manufacturing or steel fabrication environment.

- Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety, or the willingness to obtain one if not already held.

- Current Australian driver's licence.

- Full Australian working rights.
