Operations Administrator – Work From Home

Work from home | Perth, Melbourne or Sydney preferred | Full-time

Help us deliver events that make a difference across Australia

Are you an organised, proactive and people-focused administrator who loves keeping things running smoothly?

Do you enjoy variety, solving problems, communicating with customers and taking ownership of your work?

If so, we'd love to hear from you.

The Disability Events Community (DEC) and The Aged Care Events Community (ACEC) are rapidly growing national organisations that deliver free community expos across Australia, connecting individuals, families, carers and professionals with trusted local service providers and information.

Our mission is simple: make it easier for Australians to access trusted information, discover local supports and build meaningful community connections.

As we continue to grow, we're looking for an Operations Administrator to join our remote team and play an important role in keeping our day-to-day operations running smoothly.

About the role

This is a genuine work-from-home position , ideally suited to someone based in Perth, Melbourne or Sydney .

You'll be at the heart of our daily operations, working across our disability and aged care brands and supporting events held throughout Australia.

Your days will be varied. You'll communicate with stallholders, community members, venues, suppliers and sponsors, manage administration, coordinate operational tasks, prepare documentation, maintain systems and support our leadership team.

This isn't a role where you'll be doing the same thing every day.

We're looking for someone who can hit the ground running, work autonomously, stay calm when things get busy and take genuine ownership of getting things done.

What you'll be doing

Your responsibilities will include:

- Managing shared email inboxes across our brands

- Responding to customer, stallholder, sponsor, venue and supplier enquiries

- Answering phone enquiries in a professional and friendly manner

- Supporting prospective stallholders through the booking process

- Preparing and issuing invoices and assisting with payment follow-up

- Maintaining accurate databases, spreadsheets and internal records

- Updating booking systems and event documentation

- Preparing correspondence, forms and operational documents

- Coordinating operational tasks across upcoming events

- Assisting with venue and supplier coordination

- Preparing and distributing stallholder information packs

- Maintaining operational checklists and procedures

- Assisting with supplier sourcing and obtaining quotations

- Identifying opportunities to improve systems and processes

- Providing administrative support to the leadership team

- Occasionally assisting at local community expos when additional operational support is required

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who is highly organised, reliable and proactive , with excellent attention to detail and a genuine desire to help people.

You'll ideally have:

- Previous experience in administration, operations or customer service

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- A professional and confident phone manner

- Robust organisational and time-management skills

- Excellent attention to detail

- The ability to manage multiple priorities at once

- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

- The ability to work independently and stay productive in a WFH environment

- Intermediate to advanced Google Workspace skills

- Strong computer literacy and the ability to learn new systems quickly

You'll stand out if you also have:

- Experience using Xero

- Experience using Canva

- Previous experience supporting events or community programs

- Experience in the disability, aged care or broader community sectors

- Experience working as part of a remote team

Most importantly, you'll be someone who...

- Takes ownership and gets things done

- Can work autonomously with minimal direction once given instructions

- Is highly organised and naturally keeps on top of the details

- Is friendly, approachable and genuinely customer focused

- Remains calm when things get busy

- Is solutions-focused and uses initiative

- Is adaptable and happy to jump in and help wherever needed

- Is reliable and accountable for their work

- Looks for ways to improve systems and processes rather than simply following them

- Enjoys helping people and wants their work to have a positive impact on the community

Why join us?

This is an opportunity to join a purpose-driven, rapidly growing Australian organisation where the work you do directly contributes to helping people access information, services and meaningful community connections.

You'll enjoy:

- Genuine work-from-home flexibility

- A supportive and collaborative team environment

- A role where no two days are the same

- The opportunity to work across two growing national brands

- Occasional opportunities to attend and support community expos

- Professional development and career growth opportunities

- The chance to contribute to the continued growth of an exciting national organisation

Our values

Our team is guided by five core principles:

Community First | Exceptional Customer Service | Integrity | Continuous Improvement | Collaboration

If you're someone who takes pride in being organised, enjoys helping people, thrives on variety and wants to be part of an organisation making a genuine difference in communities across Australia, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply now and tell us why you're the right person to join our team.
