About the Role
Reporting to the WHS Manager, the Senior Work Health & Safety Advisor will play a pivotal role in partnering with operational leaders to drive continuous improvement in safety performance, risk management and compliance outcomes.
This role is ideal for an experienced WHS Advisor who has built strong foundations in the mining sector and is ready to take on broader responsibilities, provide higher-level guidance, and contribute to the ongoing development of our safety systems and culture.
You will be a visible and trusted safety leader, working closely with site-based teams to deliver practical solutions that support both operational success and the wellbeing of our people.
Key Responsibilities

Provide expert WHS advice, coaching and support to Regional and Site Leadership TeamsPartner with operational leaders to identify opportunities for continuous improvementLead and facilitate incident investigations, ICAM investigations and corrective actionsConduct risk assessments, audits, inspections and hazard management activitiesSupport the ongoing development and enhancement of WHS management systemsAnalyse safety performance trends and prepare meaningful WHS reports and insightsProvide guidance on legislative compliance, industry standards and best practiceSupport injury management and return-to-work processesMentor and influence operational personnel to strengthen safety leadership capabilityChampion proactive safety behaviours and a positive reporting cultureUtilise MYOSH and other safety management systems to drive effective safety outcomesTravel to operational sites approximately once per month




About You
You are a confident and influential WHS skilled with a strong operational understanding of the mining industry. You enjoy building relationships, coaching leaders, and finding practical solutions that improve safety performance without compromising operational effectiveness.

Essential Requirements
Current Australian working rightsCurrent C-Class Driver's LicenceCertificate IV or Diploma in Work Health & SafetyICAM Lead Investigator qualificationMinimum 5 years' experience in a WHS role within the mining, resources or heavy industry sectorStrong working knowledge of WA WHS legislation and industry requirementsDemonstrated experience implementing and improving WHS systems, programs and initiativesAbility to build credibility and influence stakeholders at all levels of the businessStrong report writing, communication and presentation skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to work autonomously while contributing positively within a team environment
Highly Regarded
Certificate IV in Training and AssessmentExperience with behavioural safety programs and initiativesExperience supporting multiple operational sites or regionsExposure to mining contractor environments
