Employment Consultant

The Employment Consultant sits within the Employment Services Team and reports to the Employment Services Manager . The role is responsible for delivering integrated case management services to RAES participants, including developing job plans, maintaining regular participant engagement, supporting compliance requirements, and assisting jobseekers into training, community projects and future employment opportunities. The role also involves travel to homelands at times.

The Employment Consultant reports to the Employment Services Manager and is responsible for delivering integrated case management support to RAES participants. This includes developing job plans, maintaining regular participant engagement, supporting compliance requirements, and assisting jobseekers into training, community projects and future employment opportunities.

We are looking for someone who can work with participants in a practical, respectful and supportive way, with an understanding that consistency, confidence and participation are often built over time.

Key responsibilities

- Provide case management support to RAES participants

- Develop meaningful job plans linked to skills, goals and work pathways

- Meet regularly with participants and follow up on progress, appointments and obligations

- Manage caseloads and associated compliance requirements

- Use ESS/ECSN systems to monitor appointments, obligations and servicing actions

- Support participants into training, community projects and workforce development opportunities

- Assist with participant administration including resumes, calendars, records and case notes

- Work within program guidelines, budgets and BHAC procedures

- Support employment outcomes through structured participant engagement and planning





- Engage with participants in a way that recognises the impact of social and emotional wellbeing on employment pathways

- Travel to Maningrida as required to provide relief coverage and service delivery support

About you

We are looking for someone who is organised, practical and able to build positive working relationships with participants, colleagues and stakeholders.

To be successful in the role, you will have:

- Experience working with Aboriginal people and/or in remote or culturally diverse settings

- Some exposure or initial experience working with Aboriginal communities and/or in remote or culturally diverse environments

- Robust interpersonal and communication skills

- Good time management and organisational skills

- Experience supporting people to achieve goals and progress

- A practical understanding of case management, compliance or participant servicing

- A minimum of 6-12 months practical experience in case management, compliance or participant servicing

- A current Driver Licence

- A current Working with Children Check and Police Check, or ability to obtain

- Ability to obtain permits and required checks for working in Maningrida and surrounding homelands
