LABOURLENS PTY LTD Sandhu Saab Pty Ltd, trading as Capital Infracomms, is seeking an experienced Cabler to join its team in a permanent full-time position, working 38 hours per week. Applicants should have approximately one to two years of relevant experience, and Australian citizens and permanent residents will be preferred. The Cabler will undertake telecommunications cabling and infrastructure work across amongst various sites .

The role will involve reviewing network plans and site requirements, preparing cable pathways, installing and connecting telecommunications cables and associated equipment, and assisting with the construction and maintenance of pits, pipes, conduits and underground cable routes. The successful candidate will also perform cable testing, identify and rectify faults, repair or replace damaged components, and maintain accurate records of installations and completed work. The Cabler will be expected to maintain high standards of workmanship, follow workplace health and safety procedures, and contribute to the reliable delivery of telecommunications and infrastructure services.

Task & responsibilities Reviewing NBN network plans, technical drawings, specifications and site conditions to determine suitable cable routes, equipment locations and connection points. Installing, terminating and connecting fibre-optic, copper and coaxial cabling used for NBN telecommunications and data transmission services. Identifying and diagnosing faults in telecommunications cables, network equipment and customer connections using optical power meters, multimeters, tone generators and other electronic testing instruments.

Connecting telecommunications wires and cables to network termination devices, communication cabinets, distribution points, sockets and customer premises equipment. Repairing, replacing and adjusting damaged or faulty cables, connectors, joints, terminals and telecommunications components to restore network services. Testing installed and repaired telecommunications equipment to confirm signal strength, continuity, transmission quality and compliance with NBN technical requirements.

Installing and maintaining underground and aerial telecommunications cables, including lead-in cabling from network distribution points to residential and commercial premises. Splicing and joining fibre-optic and copper cables, sealing cable joints and protecting cable sheaths against moisture, weather exposure and physical damage. Installing telecommunications equipment such as network termination devices, fibre connection boxes, communication sockets, distribution enclosures and data transmission equipment.

Inspecting pits, conduits, poles, cable pathways and work areas to ensure cabling can be installed safely and in accordance with approved network designs. Conducting service activation,



fault rectification and connectivity testing at customer premises to ensure NBN services operate according to required performance standards. Recording completed installations, test results, cable routes, faults identified and repair work undertaken in accordance with company and NBN documentation procedures.

Following telecommunications cabling standards, electrical safety requirements, workplace health and safety procedures and NBN installation guidelines while completing fieldwork. Qualification & experience Certificate III in Telecommunications Technology or equivalent qualification required. At least one year of practical experience working as a Cabler or in a similar telecommunications cabling role.

Demonstrated experience installing, connecting, testing, maintaining and repairing telecommunications cables and associated network components. Practical knowledge of fibre-optic and copper cabling, cable pathways, telecommunications pits, pipes, ducts and conduits. Experience interpreting network plans, technical drawings, site instructions and project specifications to determine appropriate cable routes and connection points.

Ability to identify telecommunications faults and perform cable testing using appropriate testing instruments and equipment. Understanding of telecommunications installation procedures, quality requirements and workplace health and safety practices. Ability to work across residential, commercial and civil construction sites while adapting to different site conditions and project requirements.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to completing installation, testing and repair work to a high standard. Ability to work effectively with supervisors, civil construction teams, subcontractors and other field personnel. Good organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and complete work within project deadlines.
